Med.I.S. is an integrated computerized information system designed for medical institutions and covering the operation of all the links of the institution and allowing not only for efficient solution of institution administration, laboratory management, and medical data collection tasks but also standardization and automation of all the processes taking place in the health institution.

This system is a result of diligent and careful work that took over ten years by cooperating with the specialists of the majority of medical institutions and it is currently used by around forty heath care institutions in Lithuania.

Med.I.S. is a particularly flexible solution which can be easily adapted to individual customer needs. This system is constantly being development to adapt it to the today’s needs of healthcare institutions and to make it more convenient for users and more helpful for specialists in their day-to-day work.

Purpose

The purpose of the model is patient appointment scheduling and record keeping of services provided. The module assists the reception staff and doctors.

Functionality

Patient catalogue:

Patients’ personal data and contact details;
Patient search by surname, name, personal ID code, etc.;
Creation of patient lists by different characteristics;
Verification of patient insurance data;
State and private health insurance;
Printing of outpatient medical records and other forms;
Determination of the number format of the record-keeping form based on the institution’s needs.

Scheduling a doctor’s appointment:

Doctors’ list;
Doctors’ work schedules;
Patient appointment scheduling grid;
Advance appointment scheduling / reservation of the doctor’s appointment time.

Personnel management system

Purpose

The system helps to effectively manage, administer and account all information related to the personnel of the medical institution. The main user of the system is the administration of the medical institution.

Functionality

managing personal files (personal data, information about leave periods, information about job position held and salary, their history, etc.);
option of placing various documents in personal files;
various statistical reports;
keeping of records on employment;
work time sheets management;
automatic work schedule management and transference of times to the work time sheet;
automatic record keeping of employees’ leaves and visual representation of leave plans;
calculation of basic salaries using the weighted coefficient method;
flexible administration of the rights of users and user groups;
printing of various forms and documents (orders, agreements, applications, etc.) using pre-designed templates. The medical institution may itself prepare templates of new forms based on its needs or to adjust the existing ones.

The personnel management system has features that are exclusively suited to medical institutions. It enables keeping of records on resident physicians, keeping of records on doctor’s licenses and qualification improvement certificates, keeping of records on doctors’ specialties and creation of an annual report on the personnel of the medical institution No. 3. A particularly flexible work time accounting mechanism has been created required for the operation of a medical institution (accounting of duty times, substitutions or cases when the employee’s daily working hours fall into two intervals).

The personnel management system may be purchased as a separate institution personnel management system or as a part of the Med.I.S. medicine information system.The data contained in the personnel managemnet system are linked to the information stored in the Med.I.S. system. Data entered in any of the systems is immediately synchronized and can be accessed both from any module of the Med.I.S. system or from the personnel management system.

Statistics and report module

Purpose

The module performs the statistical analysis of all collected information and prepares reports of various forms. The user himself may set the data filtration terms. The module is intended for the administrators and managers of the healthcare institution.

Functionality

Data may be filtrated, sorted and grouped by different criteria;
Reports are presented at various levels: from the most detailed ones to summary reports;
Generalized reports;
Graphical data representation;
The institution has the option of adjusting the existing report forms or creating new ones;
Option of exporting reports to various file formats: pdf, word, excel, csv.

Module for communicating with patients (SMS, e-mail)

Physical medicine and rehabilitation module

Interface with the medical picture archive (PACS)

Transference of work lists to the radiological information system (RIS);

Placement of the textual description of a radiological examination in the patient’s case report;
Link between the image contained in the PACS and the textual description;

The purpose of this module is to perform full management of the processes of the medical laboratory from the ordering of tests to the presentation of results to doctors. The module assists the specialists of the medical laboratory and the staff of the sampling procedural room.

Scheduling laboratory tests for patients in a doctor’s room;
Sampling and marking of samples with bar codes;
Distribution of information to specialized medical laboratories;
Management of laboratory analyzers;
Preparation of protocols for laboratory testing results and their submission to doctors;
